  • 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 60 g granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 220 g unsalted butter (cold)
  • 110 g water
  • 1 kg apples (Pink Lady, Royal Gala or Fuji)
  • 75 g unsalted butter (for filling)
  • 190 g brown sugar
  • 1¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1¼ tbsp cornstarch
  • Vanilla ice cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pie crust by mixing flour, sugar, salt, and cold butter until crumbly. Add water to form dough. Chill for 30 minutes.
  2. For the filling, melt butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, salt, and water until tender.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the dough and fill a pie dish with the apple mixture. Sprinkle almond flour on top.
  4. Brush an egg wash over the crust and sprinkle brown sugar before baking for about 80 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Serve warm with scoops of vanilla ice cream.
