  • 2 large Granny Smith apples (peeled, cored, diced)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1/8 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 large egg (for egg wash)
  • 2/3 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Cook diced apples in melted butter over medium heat for about 5 minutes.
  2. Stir in sugars, cornstarch, cinnamon, and salt; cook until just soft.
  3. Roll puff pastry into squares and cut into four parts.
  4. Place filling in the center of each square, seal edges with egg wash.
  5. Chill turnovers in the fridge for about 15 minutes before baking at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes.
  6. Drizzle with glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.
