  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup fresh basil, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 1/2 cups bread flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a stand mixer bowl, combine yeast, warm water, and sugar; mix until combined and let proof for 5 minutes.
  3. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Add salt, minced basil, and vegetable oil to the yeast mixture; mix well.
  5. Gradually add flour one cup at a time while mixing until smooth dough forms.
  6. Knead for about 5 minutes in the stand mixer until elastic.
  7. Shape the dough into a rectangle and roll it like a cinnamon roll; place on the prepared cookie sheet.
  8. Cover and let rise in a warm area for about 20 minutes.
  9. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, then covered with foil for an additional 10 minutes.
  10. Cool slightly before slicing.
