  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or oil (for cooking)
  • Juice from 1/2 lemon
  • 3 tablespoons melted butter or oil (to finish)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry and brush both sides with melted butter. Generously coat with the spice blend.
  3. Preheat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot. Add oil.
  4. Place the salmon skin-side down in the skillet and cook for 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  5. Flip carefully and cook for another 3-4 minutes until fully cooked and flaky.
  6. Remove from heat; drizzle with lemon juice and serve.
