Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix warm water and sugar. Sprinkle active dry yeast on top and let it sit until foamy (about 5 minutes). Add salt and melted butter, then gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 1 hour).
  3. Punch down the dough, divide into 12 pieces, flatten each piece, place shredded cheese inside, and shape into balls.
  4. Mix melted butter with garlic powder and brush over each ball on a lined baking sheet.
  5. Allow to rise again for 30 minutes while preheating the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 25 minutes until golden brown.
