  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp almond extract (optional)
  • ⅓ cup Christmas jimmies sprinkles
  • 10 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 13 Tbsp salted butter, softened
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ⅛ tsp salt
  • 1¼ cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • ⅓ cup heavy cream, very cold
  • ¼ cup Christmas sprinkles (jimmies, nonpareils, trees, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl; set aside.
  3. In a stand mixer, beat softened butter and sugar until fluffy; add egg and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients until just combined; fold in sprinkles.
  5. Scoop dough into balls and place on baking sheets; flatten slightly.
  6. Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are set but tops are soft; cool on wire racks.
  7. For frosting, beat cream cheese and butter together; gradually add powdered sugar and heavy cream until smooth.
  8. Frost cooled cookies with a piping bag or spatula and decorate with extra sprinkles.
