  • 1/2 lb sliced ham
  • 1/2 lb sliced Gruyère cheese
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk (divided)
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice croissants in half lengthwise and layer half in a baking dish.
  3. Top with half of the ham and cheese.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butter and whisk in flour until combined; gradually add 1½ cups of milk while stirring continuously until smooth. Stir in mustard and salt.
  5. Pour half of the béchamel sauce over the croissant layer and repeat with remaining croissants, ham, cheese, and sauce.
  6. Bake for about 35 minutes until golden brown on top. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
