  3. In another bowl, cream softened butter with granulated and brown sugars until smooth. Mix in pumpkin puree and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until just combined. Gently fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets about two inches apart. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until edges are golden but centers remain soft.
