  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • pepper
  • 28 oz marinara sauce
  • 1/2 c chicken broth
  • 24 oz potato gnocchi
  • 4 oz mozzarella cheese, shredded or sliced
  • 1/4 c fresh Parmigiano reggiano, grated
  • optional: fresh basil

Instructions

  1. In a large sauté pan over medium heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink; drain excess grease.
  2. Add olive oil, chopped onion, minced garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, oregano, parsley, salt, and pepper. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until onions are translucent.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce and chicken broth; mix well.
  4. Cover and let simmer for 20 minutes to meld flavors.
  5. Add potato gnocchi; cover and simmer for another 10 minutes.
  6. Stir in mozzarella cheese until melted; top with grated Parmigiano reggiano before serving.
