  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 45 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • ¼ cup milk (optional)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a cast iron skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onion and garlic until translucent.
  3. Add ground beef and cook until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. Layer half of the sliced potatoes over the beef mixture, season with Italian seasoning, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour in beef broth (and milk if using) before adding the remaining potato slices.
  5. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 30 minutes. Remove foil, sprinkle cheeses on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly.
