  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 cups oats (quick cooking or old fashioned)
  • For the icing: 4 tablespoons milk, 2 cups powdered sugar (sifted), water as needed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the shortening and sugars until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the water and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Gradually incorporate into the creamed mixture and fold in oats gently.
