Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups boneless, skinless chicken breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 4 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger (grated)
  • 2 tbsp tikka masala spice mix
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ¼ cup fresh cilantro (chopped)

Instructions

  1. 1. Marinate the Chicken: In a large bowl, mix yogurt, minced garlic, grated ginger, and tikka masala spice mix. Add chicken pieces, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least one hour or overnight.
  2. 2. Cook the Chicken: Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add marinated chicken (discard excess marinade) and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from the pan.
  3. 3. Prepare the Sauce: In the same pan, add crushed tomatoes with juice and additional tikka spices if desired. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. 4. Combine Everything: Return cooked chicken to the pan, gradually stir in heavy cream, and let it simmer for another 10 minutes.
  5. 5. Garnish: Remove from heat and stir in freshly chopped cilantro before serving.
  6. 6. Serve Up: Serve over basmati rice or with naan, drizzling extra cream if desired.
