  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tbsp culinary lavender
  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter (for frosting)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp culinary lavender (for frosting)
  • 1 tsp vanilla bean paste (for frosting)
  • purple food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla bean paste, mixing until combined.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and Earl Grey tea. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Stir in culinary lavender.
  4. Using a cookie scoop, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for about 9 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
  5. For the frosting, blend cream cheese and unsalted butter with powdered sugar, culinary lavender, vanilla bean paste, and optional food coloring until smooth.
  6. Once cookies have cooled completely, frost each cookie generously.
