  3. Reduce heat to medium and attach a candy thermometer. Boil until it reaches 250°F (about 20-30 minutes).
  4. Stir in peanuts and salt; continue cooking until the temperature reaches 295°F (15-30 minutes).
  5. Remove from heat, then stir in butter and baking soda until well combined; expect foaming.
  6. Quickly pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly.
  7. Allow to cool completely before breaking into pieces.
