  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 1 bell pepper (diced)

  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • Olive oil
  • Smoked paprika
  • Black pepper
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced sausage and brown for about 5–7 minutes until golden.
  2. Stir in diced onion and bell pepper; cook until softened (about 3–4 minutes). Add minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Mix in rice and toast lightly for about 2 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together chicken broth, honey, BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, black pepper, and salt. Pour into the skillet and stir well.
  5. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 18–20 minutes until rice is tender.
