  • 1 cup unsalted butter (softened, divided)
  • 2½ cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1½ cups mini chocolate chips
  • Crushed candy canes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9×13 baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the brownie mix according to package instructions and pour it into the prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes until set.
  3. In a bowl, beat together powdered sugar, ½ cup butter, heavy whipping cream, and peppermint extract until smooth. Spread over cooled brownies.
  4. Chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  5. Melt remaining butter and mini chocolate chips in a small pot over low heat until smooth. Spread over chilled brownies and top with crushed candy canes.
  6. Chill again for another 30-60 minutes before cutting into squares.
