  • 1 small head green cabbage (about 2 1/2 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 small onion (sliced)
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh oregano
  • Juice from 1 lemon wedge
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Cut the cabbage in half through its core, discard the core, and slice thinly into ribbons.
  2. Heat a large sauté pan over medium-high heat; add olive oil.
  3. Once hot, sauté sliced onion for 1–2 minutes until translucent.
  4. Add sliced cabbage, garlic, salt, pepper, dried herbs, and oregano; stir well.
  5. Cook for about 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until the cabbage is tender and starts to brown.
  6. Remove from heat and adjust seasoning as needed.
  7. Squeeze lemon juice on top and sprinkle with fresh parsley before serving.
