  • 200g spaghetti
  • 6 crusty white rolls
  • 500g ground beef
  • 2 garlic cloves (plus more for paste)
  • 80ml red wine
  • 500g tomato passata
  • 200g mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil, oregano, and parsley
  • Olive oil and butter

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté diced onion until golden, then add minced garlic and ground beef; cook until browned.
  2. Stir in tomato puree, deglaze the skillet with red wine, and then mix in tomato passata, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, basil, oregano, sugar, and parmesan. Simmer for 25 minutes.
  3. Hollow out the crusty rolls and brush the insides with a mixture of melted butter, garlic paste, parsley, and parmesan.
  4. Boil spaghetti until al dente; drain and mix into the sauce until well coated.
  5. Fill each bread bowl with spaghetti mixture and top with shredded mozzarella.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 8–10 minutes until bread is crisp and cheese melts.
