  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 4 leaves of lettuce
  • 1 small red onion, sliced
  • 1 white onion, sliced (optional)
  • 4 burger buns

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey and spices until just blended.
  2. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties with an indentation in the center.
  3. Chill patties in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat grill or skillet over medium-high heat; cook each patty for 5-7 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  5. While cooking, prepare the southwest sauce by mixing mayonnaise, lime juice, cilantro, and spices in a bowl.
  6. Toast burger buns until golden brown.
  7. Assemble burgers by spreading sauce on the bun and adding cooked patties, avocado slices, tomato, lettuce, and onion.
