  • 1/2 cup giardiniera (drained and chopped)
  • 1/4 cup roasted red peppers (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup capers (drained)
  • 1/2 cup celery (finely chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 large round sesame seed bread
  • 4 oz mortadella (thinly sliced)
  • 4 oz salami (thinly sliced)
  • 4 oz capicola (thinly sliced)
  • 4 oz provolone cheese (thinly sliced)
  • 4 oz mozzarella cheese (thinly sliced)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the green olives, black olives, giardiniera, roasted red peppers, capers, celery, and garlic.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together olive oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, red pepper flakes, and black pepper; pour over the olive mixture and stir well.
  3. Slice the sesame seed bread in half horizontally. Layer mortadella, salami, capicola, provolone, and mozzarella on the bottom half.
  4. Generously spoon the olive salad over the meats and cheeses.
  5. Place the top half of the bread back on the sandwich. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap to compress; let sit for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
